Before the commencement of the tournament, South African cricketers were seen spending time in London.
South Africa has won one of their 2 warm up games before the big tournament. However, the match against West Indies was called off due to rain where they managed to score 95 runs in just 12.4 overs. South African skipper Faf du Plessis led the team from the front in its batting department by scoring 88 runs of just 69 balls. The team will also benefit from the form of Andile Phehlukwayo who managed to take 4 wickets by giving just 36 runs in his 7 overs.
