ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: West Indies vs Pakistan: Pre match statistics and probable starting XI
The West Indies will take on Pakistan in their first World Cup match today at Trent Bridge,Nottingham. It will be a contest between the West Indian batters and Pakistan bowlers.
The mighty West Indies are on a high after posting a mammoth 421 in their second warm-up game against New Zealand at Bristol few days back. Their confidence is sky high with their batsmen led by Shai Hope have set goals for themselves to become the first side to post a total in excess of 500 in an ODI game. Pakistan on the other hand has struggled to find the right mix of players to pose a threat to its opponents in recent times. Their think-tank needs to find a way to keep their side motivated going into a tournament such as the World Cup. Going by recent form, its hard to pick a favourite side going into this encounter, but both teams will be wary of the fact that their opening fixture is going to be a high-scoring one and its their batsmen who will have to rise up to the occasion and determine the course of the match with their stroke-making abilities.
