ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Pakistan versus West Indies: Records that were broken
All the records that broken during the game between Pakistan and West Indies
Pakistan took on West Indies in the opening match of their World Cup campaign at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Overcast conditions meant that Jason Holder, the lucky captain at the toss had no hesitations in putting the fragile Pakistan batting order to make first use of the conditions. Some fine bowling performances by pace trio of Jason Holder, Andre Russell and Oshane Thomas meant that Pakistan were always playing catch-up cricket and could not find ways to score runs at a brisk pace. A cameo from Wahab Riaz at the dying stages of their innings meant that Pakistan crossed the three figure mark. They were eventually bundled out for 105 in 21.4 overs, their second lowest total in World Cup history.
In reply, West Indies took full use of the field restrictions and made light work of the target. They chased it down in 13.4 overs with 7 wickets remaining. Chris Gayle continuing from where he left off from the IPL, made a swashbuckling 50 off 33 balls. Now, Pakistan have lost 11 ODIs on a trot- a dubious record which they would like to shrug off in the upcoming matches.
Here we have a look at the records broken during the course of the match:

Chris Gayle who scored a half-century, became the 8th batsmen to score 6 consecutive fifties in ODIs. His previous knocks were 77,162,50,135 and 73. Also during the course of his innings, he smashed 3 sixes and became the first batsmen to hit 40 sixes in World Cups, surpassing AB de Villiers who hit 37.

Oshane Thomas, playing his first World Cup game, finished with 4 for 27- is the best bowling figures by a West Indies bowler against Pakistan in World Cup.

105 by Pakistan at Trent Bridge, is the second lowest total at this venue and also their second lowest total in World Cup. Also,11 consecutive defeats by Pakistan means that this is their longest losing streak in ODIs.
Next Game: Pakistan face England on 3rd June whereas West Indies take on Australia on 6th June at the same venue.
