Afghanistan showcase their skills

The Afghan team has had a number of young guns rising up in the recent past, and they took to the big stage beautifully cometh the hour. Rahmat Shah's flick off Nathan Coulter-Nile to wid-wicket or the partnership between Shahidi and Shah showed the raw talent, panache and the elegance the team contains.

Zadran's counter-attacking skills, Rashid Khan's fearless batting or Gulbadin Naib's determination made for pleasant viewing, and though they might have lost the game, their intent against a superior bowling attack was applause-worthy.

David Warner comebacks with a bang

Though Warner warmed up in the IPL, the international stage is always an altogether different platform. Booed constantly through the game, Warner displayed his thick skin and scored a match-winning knock.

He did not go all guns blazing initially, but stuck to his crease and finished his job with maturity. He milked the spinners, played patiently when Finch at the other end was timimg the ball well, and made a rooaring comeback to international cricket.
