Afghanistan had lost both their previous matches in the tournament whereas, New Zealand on the other hand will aim for their hat-trick win in the tournament. The Afghans lost by a bug margin to the Aussies in their first match where they couldn’t get past 207 runs in the first innings which the Aussies chased down in mere 34.5 overs. In their second match, they lost to Sri Lanka in a rain interrupted game.

Black Caps on the other hand defeated Sri Lanka in a low total game where they won by 10 wickets and defeated Bangladesh by 2 wickets in their next game.

Afghanistan will look forward to register their first win the tournament whereas the Black Caps will aim for a hat-trick. Let’s have a look at their key players

Matt Henry- Mattew James Henry has been New Zealand’s most effective bowler so far in the tournament. He was named the Player of the Match in their first match of the tournament against Sri Lanka. In his 7 overs spell, he managed to pick up 3 wickets with a bowling economy of 4.14. However, his consistency is New Zealand’s biggest asset in the tournament. In the second game against Bangladesh, he yet again proved his impact in the team by bowling exceptionally well and picking up 4 crucial wickets in the match. His bowling economy was as low as 5.04 and he gave away 47 runs in his spell of 9.2 overs.

Rashid Khan- This 20 year old Afghanistan cricketer is an integral part of the team and can change the team’s fate at any crucial point of the game. Rashid Khan was the most economical bowler for the team in their previous game against Sri Lanka with an economy 2.17 in 7.5 overs. He picked up 2 crucial wickets for the team.

Ross Taylor- Ross Taylor will play a crucial role for the New Zealand team’s batting line-up. In the previous match against Bangladesh, he emerged as the highest run-scorer for the team and scored 82 runs of 91 deliveries with a strike rate of 90.11. He will provide the team stability in the middle order.
