Star Plus’ latest offering to the telly world ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ has finally arrived. The very first episode of the show tells us the overall story line of this daily soap. Sanjeeda Sheikh who plays Durga Thakur’s role is looking fresh and beautiful. Vatsal Sheth has made a big come back on TV after his short stint with movies. Vatsal is a good choice for a grey character and he is suiting the role.

Simone Singh and Ayub Khan’s pairing has added the much needed weight to the show. This couple compliments each other and we know how they can take the show on a different level with their acting abilities.

The show begins with Durga praying in front of the Mata and seeking her blessings to support her in her fight for justice. The show is set up in Kolkata. There is a mystery woman Payal who is in the mental asylum and Durga has a soft corner for her. From the flashbacks, it looks like Vatsal aka Shaurya Goenka raped her in the past because of which she is in a shock. She loses her control on seeing Shaurya’s photo. Durga comes to cool her down.

Durga is fighting for the crime committed by Shaurya. He thinks that he can get away with anything because of his influential parents- Sakshi and Rajnath Goenka played by Simone Singh and Ayub Khan respectively.
Shaurya is a brat and a big time womanizer. He sees Durga at aarti and decides to come closer to her anyhow. Durga deliberately burns her saree so that Shaurya can save her. She succeeds in her first step towards taking the revenge from him.

Overall the story is gripping, show is quite different from other dailies currently on TV. This show just might be the next big thing on the tube if the makers don’t deviate themselves from the story line and stick to its fast paced drama.
