10th February 2014 Episode

Jalaluddin Akbar and Jodha Begum have come a long way in their marriage. Once upon a time they could not even stand each other owing to their immense hatred or misunderstandings, and now, ever since Benazir’s episode, the duo are craving to spend time in each other’s’ company. In the coming days, we will see Jodha and Akbar having fun on their first real trip together as a happy couple.

No wonder the poison girl has managed to dissolve bitterness in the hearts of the couple, albeit unknowingly.

In today’s episode Jalal praises Man Singh and Mirza Hakim for their valiant deeds. While the duo showers each other with generous praises for their bravery, Jalal remembers the time when his father saved his life. Man Singh accepts the praise humbly and says that it is the duty of Rajvanshis to discharge their duties till death. Jalal agrees with Man Singh and looks at Jodha Begum.

Jalal announces to bestow the Chanderi property on Begum Ruqaiya as a mark of her fortitude in dealing with Benazir. But, the Begum refuses to own it and asks Jalal to give it to Rahim instead for its rightful owner was Bairam Khan. Jalal accepts Ruqaiya’s suggestion and gives the property to Begum Salima on behalf of Rahim.

To Jodha, Jalal does not wish to give anything but asks for something from her. He asks her for forgiveness for not paying heed to her counsels. He announces to make a new city in Jodha’s honour which will be named Fatehpur Sikri – meaning win over evil. He even desires of going on a pilgrimage on foot to pay obeisance to the dargah and thank Allah for saving Jodha’s life.

Maha Manga warns Ruqaiya Begum to beware of Jalal and Jodha’s growing intimacy. But Ruqaiya dismisses Maha Manga warnings and says that she knows it was Jalal’s way of paying back Jodha’s favour.

Hamida Begum suggests that all three Begums should accompany Akbar to the pilgrimage. But, back in her chamber, Ruqaiya Begum rubbishes the idea.

On the other side of the story, the conniving Adham Khan is keeping an eye on the Emperor’s seat and orders his men to kill Benazir’s maid, Zakira, as she might blurt out the truth about him being involved in the vicious game plan of murdering Jalal.

The kindhearted Salima Begum realizes that if Ruqaiya Begum is not going along with Jalal to the pilgrimage, then she should too, leave Jalal and Jodha alone so that they can spend some more time together. With this thought, Salima fakes a backache, and thus, stays back at the fort.

The Emperor and Jodha decide to venture out in the garb of a common man and prepare to leave early. Maha Manga, on her part, rushes to tell Begum Ruqaiya that Jalal and Jodha are leaving alone. This angers Ruqaiya further and she starts cursing Jodha.

Precap: Jalal feeds Jodha with his own hands. Jodha washes Jalal’s hands after eating and vice-versa.
