Diya Aur Baati Hum: What role will Officer Roy play in Sandhya’s life?
7th February 2014 Episode
In today’s episode, apart from some light moments shared by Sooraj-Sandhya over the phone, there was a minor war of words between Meena and her brother-in-law Mohit (for a change).
Meena picks on Emily and Mohit and narrates to them a sad incident of a shop on the verge of closure at a market in Pushkar. She fears that Emily’s beauty parlous might face a similar fate. Mohit tells her to relax as their parlour’s services have been booked in advance for the next fifteen days and she need not worry about their business going bust as people love grooming themselves throughout the year even if they are not willing to buy sarees. But, this reply fails to cease Meena’s efforts to bother them. She says in that case case, Mohit and Emily can repay the loan taken by Sooraj to buy their shop. Mohit, another smart cookie in the house, makes it clear that they don’t have the cash yet as only the bookings have been done now not the payments for their services. Bhabho, Bhabhasa, Sooraj, Vikram and Emily listen to the duo in silence.
At the training camp in Hyderabad, Zakir competes with Sandhya and makes her lose in the jump rope exercise. Although, Sandhya feels a bit bad at his scathing remarks and remembers the way he belittled her the other day in Officer Singh’s room.
During the training session, Officer Singh declares that the cadets have to undergo a intense session meant to review their physical and mental growth till date and accordingly they will move on to the next challenge. Officer Singh introduces Officer Roy, who enters riding a bicycle. His duty is to train the cadets in cycle racing competition.
Throughout the training session, Zakir keeps giving sideward glances to Sandhya as if trying to run her down in his mind.
Sangram ji – a member of Kavita’s political party - needs a day off for personal obligations. Kavita gives him the permission to attend his family function and tells him that he should distribute sweets made in Hanuman Gali because they are famous in Pushkar. She promises to foot the bill for the sweets and even assures her presence at the function. This was Kavita’s way to reaching out to the Hanuman Gali residents, and the Rathi Family in particular, for gaining political mileage.
Precap: Zakir tries discouraging Sandhya, during Officer Roy training session, by saying that she won’t be able to do more than 30-40 bicycle repetitions. Sandhya, on her part, says that she will give her best.
