The award for the best daily soap in the fictional category at the Star Guild Awards 2014 went to Balika Vadhu.
Since it's launch, Balika Vadhu has delivered great content with out of the box story lines, beautiful dialogues, perfect casting and mind blowing performances. It's even tried to tackle social evils like child marriage, widow abuse, female discrimination, etc.
The show began as the story of a couple who get married as children. It shows the long term effects of child marriage through the problem-riddled life of Anandi.
Over the years, Anandi's family has become the family of the multitude of Indians that see the show and her problems depress audiences too. All we can say, is that the show deserved the award, completely!
