Krishnadasi will narrate the untold story of three women from Devadasi lineage with Kumudini (Indira Krishnan) being at the center of it. She holds pride in her legacy and strongly upholds the Devadasi tradition passing it on to her daughter Tulsi (Chhavi Mittal), who, to protect her daughter Aradhya (Sana Amin Sheikh) from this legacy hides the truth.

The story of Krishnadasi is set against the backdrop of present-day Pune. Kumudini, the authoritative matriarch of the family is a devotee of Lord Krishna and is proud of being a part of the age old Devadasi custom. However, her daughter Tulsi, who runs her own dance academy, is a gentle and compassionate woman who is forced to embrace the Devadasi culture and follow her mother’s footsteps.
Tulsi, whose life is still reeling under the negative impact of the Devadasi custom, protects her daughter from embracing the tradition and keeps the unwanted pages of her familial history hidden from her. Though
Despite being reared in an overprotective environment, Aradhya grows up to become an independent girl with liberal views. However, she struggles to find her identity and the truth about her father. She gets some relief when she meets Aryan (Shravan Reddy) and finds herself falling in love with him. Troubles starts brewing when Aradhya’s ancestral past poses an obstacle in her love life and leads to conflicts between the two families.
Krishndasi boasts of a stellar supporting cast comprising Uday Tikekar as Pradyuman (Aryan’s grandfather), Jiten Lalwani as Shashwat (Aryan’s Father), Shweta Mahadik as Pavitra (Aryan’s Mother), and Tasha Kapoor as Gayatri (Aryan’s sister) among others.
The show goes on air starting 25th January 2016. It will be aired every Monday to Friday from 10:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
