Diya Aur Baati Hum: The Rathis give their nod of approval to Aarzoo as their future bahu without knowing she is from Pakistan!
In the recent episode, we saw Resham Dadi showing her granddaughter Aarzoo’s picture to the Rathis. Bhabhasa, Bhabho and Sandhya, who are still unaware that Resham Dadi and Aarzoo belong to Pakistan’s Hyderabad, instantly like her and give their consent to Aarzoo and Aryan’s alliance. Later, Sandhya finds the letters written by Aryan’s Dadi to Resham and learns from the exchanges that Sita really wanted her grandson to marry Aarzoo to return some favour Resham Dadi did to them. Sandhya informs Bhabho about the letters and tells her that they should go ahead with the alliance if so was Sita Dadi’s wish. However, Meenakshi intervenes to ask Bhabho to rethink once about hitching Aryan with Aarzo because she comes from a completely different background.
However, Sandhya supports the alliance and tells Bhabho that Aarzoo seems a good girl and makes for a good life partner for Aryan/Chotu. Bhabho agrees with Sandhya and tells Meenakshi to get rid of her apprehensions. She cites Emily’s example saying that she was born a Christian but she adapted to the customs of the Rathis so well. She evens says that Aarzoo is anyway an Indian, not from another country. Meenakshi rests her case at this point and does not reason further.
On the other hand, in Pakistan, Aarzoo gets furious to know that her aunt was fooling her. Her aunty lies about her jewellery being stolen in the market and then begs Aarzoo to help her save from her uncle’s ire by parting with some of the money kept aside by Resham Dadi. As soon as Aarzoo finds the jewellery safe with her aunty, she destroys it by stamping on it.
On the other hand, back in India, Aryan aka Chotu worries about getting money for his girlfriend Priya’s Mass Com studies. Priya plays her card very well by telling Aryan that her mother dreamt to marry her off to a man who would fulfill her dreams. When the shrewd Priya asks Chotu to ask the money from Suraj-Sandhya, he refuses to do so because he already is so much indebted to them. He assures her that he will do something to get the money for her.
