Diya Aur Baati Hum: Aryan being fooled by his girlfriend; Aarzoo’s Dadi lands in Rathi house!
So far, we had seen in DABH, Resham arriving in India leaving behind her granddaughter Aarzo (Prachi Tehlan) in Pakistan, to discuss further about the two young ones’ marriage alliance. We have already been introduced to Resham who is an old friend of Chotu/Aryan’s (Kunal Khosla) late dadi, Sita.
Resham, however, gets the first shock on her arrival when she comes to know that Sita is no more. With a broken heart, Resham picks up her things and starts walking lost in gloomy thoughts.
Meanwhile, Sandhya, who has been put on high alert by the intelligence team, of the possible arrival of terrorists in disguise on the Indian shores, sends instructions to her team to be aware of any suspicious activity in Rajasthan. Later, she leaves for home and halts on the way to pick a nice gift for Suraj.
Co-incidentally, Sandhya and Resham reach the same shop. While, Sandhya buys a gift for Suraj, Resham reaches the shop to ask for a certain address in Pushkar. Mistakenly, Resham drops Aryan’s picture. Sandhya takes note of it and picks it for Resham. However, she gets surprised to realise that it is Aryan’s picture. When Sandhya inquires more about the picture, Resham opens up about her relationship with Sita and how Sita had proposed to get Aryan married to Aarzoo before her death.
Sandhya gladly takes Resham to the Rathi house and introduces her to Bhabho and Bhabhasa. She expresses her worry about whether Aryan will give his nod of approval to the tie up with Aarzoo.
Meanwhile, Aryan meets a girl who turns out to be his girlfriend. The girl informs him that her mum has learnt about their relationship and wants to see him. On his ladylove special request, Arya agrees to visit her mum. Later, when Aryan meets his girl’s mum, he readily gets approval for marriage but on one condition. The mother of the girl pretends to be emotional and worried about her daughter’s future and expects her husband to nurture her professional aspirations. The woman asks Aryan to arrange for Rs. 5 lakhs for her girl’s Mass Com studies. Aryan fails to gauge the real thoughts of the woman and agrees to fulfil her whims. Soon after he takes leave, it gets evident that his girlfriend and her mum are fooling him by asking him to shell out for their needs.
