Siya Ke Ram is inching towards one of the biggest events of the epic series – Sita’s Swayamvar (self-choice).

In the recent episode, we saw Sita losing her heart to Prince Ram during a quick dekko at Maharishi Vishwamitra’s ashram. When Sita returns home, her father Rajrishi Janak convinces her to agree for her self-choice. Sita accepts her father’s idea and gives her nod of approval to the self-choice. Urmila feels that Sita is in love with Ram and questions her about sacrificing her wishes by agreeing for the self-choice. Sita says that she can’t take decisions depending on a meeting with a stranger and she is not even aware if Ram feels the same way for her as she does for him. She further says that if it is her destiny, her wishes shall be fulfilled. The next day, Rajrishi Janak announces Sita’s Swayamvar and puts the condition that only the suitor who will succeed in stringing the bow shall marry Sita. The royal family of Mithila gets busy in sending out invitations to prospective suitors. When Sita’s mother Sunayna learns about Ravan being one of the guests, she gets shocked as does Sita and Urmila. Sita remains silent when others ask her if she would be alright marrying a King who is already married. Sunaya feels for Sita and advises her to visit at the Gauri temple to get a suitor of her choice.

On the other hand, Ram vanquishes the demons at Vishwamitra Maharishi’s ashram and helps in restoration of the premises. Maharishi asks Ram and Lakshman to accompany him to Mithila where they should see the glorious bow of Lord Shiva bestowed on King Janak’s ancestor.

In Mithila, Sita prays to the Divine Mother for a worthy groom. Her wishes get fulfilled and the Goddess blesses her. Urmila reaches the temple to inform Sita about the invitation for the self-choice being sent to Ayodhya too. They gets happy about it and await the auspicious day.

However, reading out the invitation of King Janak for the self-choice, Kaikeyi feels that Ram deserves a better bride and thus, a tie-up with the royal clan of Mithila won’t be feasible. King Dashrath and his other queen reluctantly agree to Kaikeyi’s suggestion and decide to refuse the invitation saying Ram is not present in Ayodhya presently, hence he can’t attend the Swayamvar.
