Ratan Rajput makes a rare appearance wearing a saree at a party! (PICS)
The dainty and lanky actress Ratan Singh Rajput of ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ and ‘Bigg Boss Season 7’ fame has been keeping a very low prodile these days. However, she made a surprising appearance at producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary lately. Ratan had played the role of Princess Amba in ‘Mahabharat’ which was a super-hit TV magnum opus of Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s production house Swastik productions.
For the soiree, Ratan was dressed in a saree and she made heads turn as soon as she entered. A cake was cut in the presence of Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s two favourite actresses Ratan Rajput and Kashmira Irani. Ratan was blushing throughout the party and her signature smile was on her face. On being asked for being seen in the party after a long time, she said, “I prefer home parties where everyone knows everyone and one can have conversations. I have worked with Siddharth Kumar Tewary who is like a guide/mentor to me besides being my friend. He is always a phone call away. I met him after six months but always stayed in touch on phone. I never stay for long in parties and never beyond 11-11.30 but I made an exception and stayed till 2 am. It was great fun. They even had cake smashing on faces but I avoided that totally. I usually prefer casual clothing; but since I was busy whole day, I had to get ready fast and because of ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo’ (character Laali) I have learnt wearing sarees very quickly. I wore saree in six minutes for the party. I have done two shows ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo’ and ‘Mahabharat’ with him and it has always been a pleasure to work with him.”
Revealing her intention to pick the next role for herself, she says, “ I want a role which has social connectivity with ordinary people. People say actors are choosy but it’s a two way street industry is equally choosy.”
Swastik productions’ former actors, well-wishers and loyalists such as Saurabh Raaj Jain, Juhi Parmar, Ratan Rajput, Mouli Ganguly, Mazher Syed, Chandni Bhagnani, Anand Suryavanshi, Babloo mukherjee, Priya Bhatija, Sambhavna Seth, Mrunal Jain, Sachin Shroff, Abhishek Rawat, Nakul Mehta, Ravi Dubey, Shweta Tiwari with Abhinav, Kashmira Irani, Monica Sehgal, Karan Khanna, Shravan Reddy, Sai Ballal with wife Shama Deshpande and Apurva Agnihotri were spotted the party.
