Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Not Kanchi Singh but Deblina Chatterjee to play Gayu?

As per latest reports, not Kanchi Singh but Deblina Chatterjee of Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman fame will play the role of Gayu in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Fans of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai are now excited as the makers are bringing back the role of Gayu which was earlier played by Kanchi Singh. Yes, as per the latest promo, we get to see how all the three families are enjoying themselves, and during the same, Gayatri aka Gayu (cousin sister of Naira) makes her entry and the same creates turmoil between Naira and Kartik. Speaking of the character, Gayu was earlier in love with Kartik (Mohsin Khan) but she sacrificed her love for her sister. There were reports that Kanchi Singh will resume the role but she squashed all the reports.

"No, I am not at all entering Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at all. I have happily moved on from the show and have nothing to do with the makers. I never even thought of going back," Kanchi told TOI. Now, the latest report by IWMBuzz suggests that the role will be played by Deblina Chatterjee who was last seen in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman. She was also seen in serials such as Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, Balika Vadhu and Sasural Simar Ka among others.

Reportedly, Gayu will return with a change in attitude and in a bold avatar as well. “Gayu will return now, with a tinge of negative shade in her. Her re-entry will provide a new twist in the Kartik – Naira relationship," the source told IWMBuzz. Talking about the show, it is one of the longest-running and popular TV shows.
