TV actress Ashita Dhawan comes out in SUPPORT of Alok Nath; says it is utter nonsense

The MeToo movement has been gaining momentum with every passing day, and new facets of the allegations against the accused keep coming in. What started with Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against Nana Patekar has now led to the opening up of not just the entire industry, but the public at large against anyone who has been a part of sexual misconduct. What came across as one of the most shocking accusation was that of Vinta Nanda against Alok Nath. Vinta, is the writer of 90s hitshow Tara, and accused Alok Nath of sexually violating her more than a decade ago.

In a heart wrenching post, Vinta mentioned how she has been waiting for 19 years for this moment to come. She referred to Alok Nath as ‘the actor par excellence who is known as the most sanskaari person in the film and television industry.” Now, actress Ashita Dhawan, who has been a part of Bidaai came out in support of the actor and claimed that the allegations against him are all false. While talking to an online portal, she said that this is utter nonsense.

She further went on to say that why is something that happened 20 years ago coming up now and that what is the reason behind it? She further went on to question as to why did the victim not choose to take a stand back then? If that is not enough, Ashita also went on to say how she does not believe that someone who comes across as so bold and confident would shut down their production house owing to the situation, or stay mum for that matter.

Not just stopping there, Ashita stated that if she did not manage to talk about it back then, now that she has, she should continue this fight and not just keep at it for as long as it is the trend. She talked about having read somewhere how Vinta Nanda went to Alok Nath’s house and how she doesn’t understand why would someone do that if this is what the gravity of the situation was. She concluded saying that Vinta Nanda  should have gone to court 20 years back and got Alok Nath banned then. However, she also stated that she wants to see how far does the producer take it up so as to see if this is any true.

Ashita further brought to notice Alok Nath’s alcoholic behaviour. She was quoted as saying, “Alokji is an angel until he is not under alcohol. He does get aggressive at times, I agree.” During the course of an incident, Ashita happened to have a major showdown with Alok Nath when under the influence of alcohol he said he wanted to buy a car for Parul Chauhan but she asked him to do so when he was sober instead.

Ashita has known Alok Nath since a long time now, and the two have been co-stars for over 6 years.
