Shri Krishna's stories are magical, inspiring and enlightening, just the way he has been introduced to the world.

On the eve of Janmashtami, devotees celebrate the festival with much pious and pomp. Today on the eve of the festival, Telly celebs share some interesting and unknown facts about Lord and talk about the stories of his life they are inspired of.

Helly Shah: Lord Krishna and Kaliya the Snake, I remember the story how Lord taught that good will always win the bad. Like how once a huge black serpent came to Vrindavan and started living in the river Yamuna. Because of his presence, the water of the river turned poisonous. People of Vrindavan were leading a miserable life when Lord Krishna decided to fight the snake. Soon the snake was defeated and Lord Krishna asked the snake to leave Vrindavan and never come back.

Suyyash Rai: There are thousands of Krishna stories. He was the creator of Bhagavad Gita and is known to have taught important life lessons through examples to Arjuna in Kurukshetra war. I love the way he taught us to stand with the truth not with the lie even if they are own by our dear ones. Truth always wins.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee: Lord taught us that we should always have faith in him. Remember the story about him and forest fire. Like how once, he and his friends went deep into the jungle with their cows. They were so busy in their games that they did not realize a fire broke into the forest, all around them. Everybody was petrified and pleaded Krishna to help them. Krishna asked them all to close their eyes and not to open them until he asked them to do so. While everybody’s eyes were closed Krishna swallowed all the fire and hence protected everyone.

Vineet Raina: I enjoyed the part in which the Lord explained that true friendship doesn’t distinguish between high and low status or between riches and poverty. Therefore today, even after thousands of years, the friendship of Krishna & Sudama is remembered all over the world as a symbol of true friendship. He ran barefoot to meet his childhood friend sudama, who came hesitantly to his palace to ask for his help as he was very poor and despite being King of Dwarka, Krishna went and hugged him. He taught us to be humble, grounded and kind.

Roop Durgapal: I love the Makhan Chor story of Krishna the most as being a Makhan chor myself I can relate to it. Just like him, I love butter and literally have to steal butter as I have to take care of what I am eating.

Alan Kapoor: I am inspired by how he enlightened Arjuna and motivated him to fight because it had to be done to win the evils and set a moral for the society. Sometimes right decisions are difficult to be taken but what has to be done should be done.

Kajal Pisal: Lord Krishna has the most mischievous life stories attached to him in Indian mythology.  The one I enjoyed and remember the story when he taught Anger is not fruitful. Like how people of Vrindavan used to worship Lord Indra for timely rains every year. One year, Shri Krishna suggested that people should rather worship the Govardhan hill. This made Lord Indra very angry and he sent a storm to Vrindavan. To protect the people Lord Krishna picked up the Govardhan hill on a single finger. Lord Indra soon realized his mistake and apologized to Krishna.

Pearl V Puri: Krishna life is inspiring and motivating. I have enjoyed the more of his childhood part and the Mahabharata. He taught us to be kind and truthful as Evil never wins the good.

Mahika Sharma: I am inspired by the part in which he taught that giving happiness to others and you will be rewarded well by the almighty. Like how once a lady who was selling fruits was crossing Shri Krishna’s house. He wanted to have some fruit. He asked the lady for fruit but the lady demanded something in return. Baby Krishna grabbed a handful of grains and ran towards the door but all the grains fell in the way. On seeing this, the fruit lady was completely smitten by Lord Krishna and gave him all the fruits in exchange for whatever was in his hands. Soon she realized that her fruit basket was full of jewels and gold.

Manish Goplani: I am inspired by his youth tale and association with Radha. The way he set an example of true love. Love is the purest feeling. Also, he inspired and motivated the youth towards Karma.

Shalini Kapoor: The part when he was Baal Krishna. I love to read about his Baal Leelas, his mischievous smile the way he used to dupe Yashoda Maiya for Makhan and being a mother she had no option but to protect him and believe in him. I am quite a Yashoda in reality and my aadyya is quite a Krishna.
