So Devoleena is now back with a bang with a music cover of her singing a melodious song dedicated to Lord Krishna. On the eve of Janmashtami, the actress released her music cover dedicating to the Lord.
In a candid yet quick tête-à-tête with us, the beautiful lady spoke about her new found profession and how she misses her Saath Nibhana Saathiya Team.
How did you come on board for this project?
This was mostly a small gift from a devotee to her god. I believe whatever I am today is because of his blessing. I feel glad to have an identity of Gopi too.
Don't you think coming back on screen after a short break would have been more impactful?
I haven't yet thought much about it. I will be back soon as I get a strong script. I'll not let my fans down. But now I think they will enjoy my song and support me the same way they had done earlier.
Do you miss Saath Nibhana Saathiya?
I miss Saathiya. The people related to the show... my set... my team, everyone. The fun and Masti we used to do; those things are just special memories now.
What are your plans ahead?
I was busy with my song... preparing a special gift for my lord... so will let u know soon.
What is this project all about?
This song is a song to the Lord... the devotion of gopi towards the lord with the popular lyrics of 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'
We have seen Gopi's connection with Lord Krishna. How is it with Devoleena?
Devoleena is a Krishna Bhakt since childhood. Actually, I have grown up listening to stories of Kanha... My mother has brought me up with tales of Kanha... I remember every night my mother use to put me to sleep with the stories of Lord Krishna. So I have been devoted to him since childhood. I got the show Saathiya that was a gift from him. Luckily he got me famous as GOPI...
Any plans of foraying into singing for the long term?
Yes, I can't limit myself... it's an art.. which gets you more polished as much as you practice. I have learnt Hindustani & Carnatic music since childhood.
