Ankita Lokhande starts shooting for her Bollywood debut Manikarnika with Kangana Ranaut
Ankita Lokhande starts shooting for her Bollywood debut Manikarnika.
The stunning Ankita Lokhande is all set for her Bollywood debut and not in a forgettable role but is touted to have bagged one of the prominent roles in Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi.
She will be playing an important character named Jhalkari Bai, the one who used to disguise and shield Rani Laxmi Bai. Her uncanny resemblance to Rani Laxmibai helped her go in disguise and protect her Queen whenever required. And now, the actress has apparently started shooting for the same from Monday, at Ramoji Studios where a huge set has been built to shoot for the film.
Reports state that Kangana Ranaut has also returned to the sets after launching the trailer of her film, Simran. It has been learnt that the two will be shooting some combination scenes from tomorrow. From the past few months, Ankita has been taking training in sword-fighting and is making sure to get into the skin of her character perfectly. Like Kangana, even she is getting training under the supervision of Hollywood Action director, Nick Powell. She said, "Since then, he has taken me by the hand and shown me how to fight. He treats me like a kid and makes the training so entertaining." Talking about her role, Ankita stated, "I'd never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I'm honoured that I'll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana's Rani Laxmibai."
