Wohoo! 'Shaktimaan' all set to return to small screens!
Shaktimaaaan! Shaktimaan! Did you just hum it rhythmically! If you did then you too have been an ardent follower of India’s first ever famous superhero Shaktimaan. So for all Shaktimaan lovers, here's some great news for you. The red-attired magical crusader who wore a golden sash on his waist is all set to re-appear on your small screens.
Actor Mukesh Khanna, the original Shaktimaan is in talks for the show on the small screen. "We are planning the return of Shaktimaan on television and the discussions are going on with few channels. I can't commit the date but you will get to see it soon. I am working on my look and body for it. I have already lost 8 kgs and will be losing another 8 kilos. I am not trying to get six pack abs. I want to try and match up with the look that I had 15 years back. People relate to me as Shaktimaan and I can't offer the role to anyone," said the actor while talking to a leading daily.
The show portrayed Shaktimaan, the superhero who would come flying to one's rescue. Having pledged to overpower evil, the superhero was loved by every member of the family. A ‘messiah’ for the world taught children the difference between the good and the bad and also jumping from one building to the other was a child’s play (Pun Intended). The show that successfully aired for 8 long years primarily because of the protagonist Shaktimaan aka Mukesh Khanna and his deadly and magical fights with the antagonist Tamraj Kilvish aka Surendra Pal is what had made the series Shaktimaan remain immortal in our minds forever.
The telecast date of the new version of Shaktimaan hasn't been finalised yet. We can't wait to see Shaktimaan! What say 90's kids?!
