8 Most Expensive Bollywood Films That Flopped

Despite their pre-release hype and hoopla, and of course, being made on whopping budgets, some Bollywood films have been nothing more than huge box-office disasters! Check out the most expensive duds that sank without a trace!

Blue (120 crores)

Marketed as Bollywood's first underwater, action adventure flick, Blue bombed at the box-office. Directed by Anthony D'Souza, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta in the lead roles. Blue could make only about 54 crores.

Chandni Chowk To China (75 crores)

The film failed to deliver what it promised in its promos, thus saw a miserable fate. Its box-office net collection was about 25.42 crores.

Kites (60 crores)

Hrithik Roshan's home production, Kites, was the most expensive film from the Roshan banner. The film was a visual disappointment, and could only make about 47.90 crores.

Love Story 2050 (60 crores)

Love story 2050, starring Priyanka Chopra and her then beau Harman Baweja, failed to strike a chord. The sci-fi film cashed in only 15 crores.

Drona (50 crores)

The superhero movie couldn't impress the viewers and tanked at the box-office. Over 2 million dollars were spent on the film's special effects. Total money collected by Drona couldn't go beyond 13.40 crores.

Saawariya (40 crores)

The film didn't hit the right note with the audience and fell flat at the ticket windows! Saawariya made approximately 23.38 crores.

Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (25 crores)

The film was a huge disaster! Ram Gopal Ki Aag has been a horrible experience for those who dared watching it! Rest were sane enough to stay away! It collected only about 7.48 crores.

Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (9 crores)

Poor dialogues, sloppy script, and distasteful music – the film had it all! That explains why this Anil Kapoor and Sridevi starrer couldn't be a commercial success. The film gathered only about 3.10 crores.
