O2 Cure Plug and Play Review; air purifier with a mesmerizing performance

We are living in an era where getting clean air in our houses is also a doubtful statement, pollution across the globe. India has seen a significant rise in the incidence of respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD. Air pollution is a major problem in most Indian cities. The quality of air inside homes, offices, schools, public buildings, health care facilities, or other private and public buildings where people spend a large part of their life is an essential determinant of healthy life and people's well-being. Air purifiers are wonderful devices that improve the environment and benefit our health in the long term. The most common use of these purifiers is to get rid of airborne particles like mold, pet dander, and dust mites.

One such company is O2 Cure which is known for offering an array of air purifiers and recently the company has added a new portable air purifier called O2 CurePlug & Play. The device is launched in India with a price tag of Rs 41,999 which seems to be very pricey. We asked the company about the high price and the officials at O2 Cure suggested we use the device for a while then conclude. The company shared one unit of Plug & Play and it seems that our perception of the device has really changed. Let’s talk more about the device and answer all your questions.

O2 Cure Plug & Play Features

It is a lightweight air purifier, designed by O2 Cure with RGF's patent PHI technology,  which has also been tested Virology lab CCMB-CSIR Under ICMR has tested the technology on SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) virus and the technology has also been tested in previous deadly outbreaks like SARS-COV-1 in 2003, H1N1 virus (Swine Flu) H5N1 virus (bird flu), Norwalk Flu virus by the third party accredited American virology labs and approved globally by China, South Korea, Japan etc.

Plug & Play have also been proven to drastically reduce odours, smoke, mold, fungi, VOCs (chemical odors), viruses and bacteria found in many rooms.

It is an air purifier without a mechanical filter and the most advanced product to mitigate respiratory diseases and cross infections in Residences/Commercial spaces from 200 Sq Ft to 800 Sqft. Correct air purifiers are a helpful tool to use in homes and confined indoor spaces because they increase air circulation, which introduces fresh air into space while removing potentially contaminated air and viruses.

O2 Cure Plug & Play Design

Design-wise the O2 Cure Plug & Play looks decent with a rectangular shape. The air purifier comes with a metal built and has had a very minimalist design. Frankly, the design of the device didn’t impress us to the core but the hardware inside the tin box does. We will talk about that later in the performance section. The O2 Cure Plug and Play comes with a power button and a power-input port which will help you to power up the device.

The device comes with top, bottom and side ventilation that ensures proper airflow, but do note that you have to mount it on a wall or put it horizontally on the desk to take full advantage of the device. The overall design experience of the O2 Cure Plug & Play was decent but we can’t count it under premium design.

O2 Cure Plug & Play Performance

Don’t get disheartened about the design because the purifier and hardware that goes under the tin box is something that matters the most. Under the hood, the air purifier comes with four major components which is the heart of the device. There is a Photohydroionization Cell (PHI Cell) that takes care of purification, which is attached to a suction fan, power adapter and control board. All these four components work together to purify the air.

We have used the device for almost one month and we understand that the amount that the company is charging is not too much when we compare the performance of the device. The device is capable of constantly purifying the air. It removes odour from the room and releases a mild fragrance, if you are a smoker then it's one of the best devices for your home because you will neither see the smoke nor feel the smoke smell in your house.

During the testing phase, we have placed the O2 Cure Plug & Play in a storeroom and within one day of use, we understand that the device gets the job done perfectly. There is no issue of odour in the room anymore. Looking at the price we must say that the company has really done a great job with the hardware, but the only down point of the device can be the design.

Moreover, the air purifier doesn't come with any extra expenditure. You needn't have to change any air filter. The one that comes with the device is reusable; you can clean it numerous times and use it. However, the lamp inside the device comes with a life of 2-3 years which can be changed easily.
