Meet the Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer's Four Main Operators and Read More About Them

The release date for Call of Duty: Vanguard is nearing, and with each passing day, fresh information about the game emerges. The gameplay, storey mode, and parts of the game's exclusive PlayStation content, such as Call of Duty: Vanguard's enhanced DualSense features, have all been seen previously. PlayStation recently released a new blog with more details on the Operators that will be available in the multiplayer portion of the game. Sledgehammer Games' Narrative Lead Director, Stephen Rhodes, outlines who the new Operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard are.

The Vanguard campaign tells the narrative of a varied group of troops who put their differences aside for a shared goal: to foil a secret Nazi operation in the last days of WWII. Their operation also marked the beginning of a new type of combat unit, the Special Forces, which moved and battled differently than any other. The article exposes two characters from the main storyline, Arthur Kingsley and Polina Petrova, as well as two new protagonists, Daniel Take Yatsu and Padmavati Balan, who will be accessible in Call of Duty: Vanguard's multiplayer.

Four Main Operators of COD: Vanguard Multiplayer

Arthur Kingsley

Arthur Kingsley is the commander of the Special Operations Task Force that was dispatched to Germany to investigate Project Phoenix. It is Arthur's constant devotion to the objective and compassion for his fellow soldiers that distinguishes him as a leader, not his ability to perpetrate violence or murder people. He takes his duty as a leader seriously, believing that it is his responsibility to guarantee that everyone survives. Arthur was hesitant to lead because he was afraid of losing soldiers under his direction, but the mission's importance convinced him to accept his role and embrace his true purpose.

Polina Petrova

Polina Petrova is yet another part of the Task Force sent to Germany, but her life is in jeopardy in addition to completing the mission. Polina was a legendary sniper who was dreaded by the Nazis and loved by Russian soldiers fighting to protect their homeland. Polina's narrative is unique in that she is the only one of our characters who did not enrol and left her country to fight. She was caught up in the conflict. Polina's storey has a lot of deep emotional threads running through it. Her storey isn't solely about seeking vengeance for what happened to her family and home.

Daniel Take Yatsu

The iconic character of the cold and unfeeling sniper, quietly murdering targets one by one, is frequently depicted in films. Daniel is a Japanese-American sharpshooter who uses his skills on the battlefield to defend and protect his fellow soldiers. He’s portrayed as a guardian who uses his marksmanship to defend his fellow soldiers, so he's no slouch as a sniper. His narrative is also intertwined with one of America's most horrific chapters: the internment of Japanese citizens in US detention camps during WWII. Daniel's entire world was destroyed when his family was transferred to detention camps, and he was conscripted, like so many other Japanese Americans, to protect a nation that did not see him as an equal citizen.

Padmavati Balan

Padmavati is from India and is characterised as a "fierce soldier expert at jungle combat." She’s a woman who has had her homeland taken from her twice: once by colonialists and again by fascists. Hers is the narrative of a woman whose prospects for a normal life were shattered when unending strife became a reality in her life. Padmavati is a ferocious soldier expert in jungle warfare, as well as a battle-weary nurse who enjoys performing poetry and music, and her persona is defined by this duality of fighter and calm civilian. She avoids romanticising warfare because she realises the true costs of bloodshed, but she will not hesitate to show courage and leadership on the battlefield if called upon.

On November 5, Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
