Shastri has been around for a long time now. He coached Team India in the last two World Cups. With India losing the race in semi-finals at both the occasions, some former players have started taking a dig at him. Shastri’s tenure as India’s head coach was to expire after World Cup, however, he alongside other coaching staff members were given a 45-day expansion.
So, they are accompanying Kohli and Co for the upcoming tour to the Caribbean. Although Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invited applications for several posts including that of head coach, Shastri is likely to be retained.
Meanwhile, Sourav also commented on the Prithvi Shaw ban as the youngster faced 8 months suspension after found guilty of doping. Shaw in his explanation said that he had just consumed a cough syrup.
