Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to part ways with IPL team Kings XI Punjab according to a report in Mumbai Mirror.

The player captained the IPL team to sixth position in this year's tournament, and he is likely to be traded from the Mohali team in the coming week. He could play for either Delhi Capitals or Rajasthan Royals, with the Delhi franchise showing an interest in procuring the services of Ashwin. Rajasthan too is keen to get him on board, and could trade Krishnappa Gowtham in his place.

If he is traded to either side, it is unlikely that Ashwin will captain any IPL team next year, with Shreyas Iyer leading the Delhi side and Steve Smith being in charge of the Royals outfit.

If he goes to Delhi, the home venue of Feroz Shah Kotla, will be of great help to Ashwin.

Ashwin has been associated with Kings XI Punjab for two years, playing 28 games and picking up 25 scalps. While his performance as a player has not been below-par, his leadership has come under the scanner as he failed to guide his team into the semis both years. Punjab have already parted ways with coach Mike Hesson, who is now the Director of Cricket of RCB.
