India made a dream start to their World Test Championship campaign claiming the series against West Indies  2-0 after beating the host by 257 runs in 2nd Test. The victory meant that Virat Kohli's team sit comfortably on the top with 120 points.

This series has seen Indian pacers rip apart the Windies batting lineup and also create records with ease. While Jasprit Bumrah claimed the limelight after he became only the third Indian cricketer to take a Test hat-trick, one bowler has been performing exceptionally alongside the best bowler in the world.

Ishant Sharma who scored his maiden half-century on Saturday achieved a massive record with the bowling. The 31-year-old  surpassed the legendary Kapil Dev to become the most successful Indian pacer outside Asia reaching the big landmark in the 47th over of West Indies' first innings when he dismissed Jahmar Hamilton for 5.

The wicket was Ishant's 156th wicket outside Asia which helped him leapfrog Kapil Dev into top place among Indian pacers. Kapil Dev had taken 155 wickets in 45 Tests outside Asia. Zaheer Khan is third in the list with 147 wickets in 38 Tests while Mohammed Shami has 101 wickets outside Asia in 28 matches.

Currently, Anil Kumble tops the list of Indian bowlers with most Test wickets outside of Asia. Kumble took 200 wickets in 50 matches and it will take some effort from Ishant to topple the great spinner and former India coach
