So the year flagged off with anti-sexual assault and women empowerment movement, Time’s Up. Hashtag #MeToo was seen trending all over social media --- women took the opportunity to talk about their personal sexual harassment incidents and issues from around the World. While that fire still continues to burn, here are some women starer movies that are sure to inspire you in more than one ways….

Alicia Vikander (Lara Croft) slays the screen in the latest edition of Tomb Raider. This reboot focuses on the story of how Lara Croft, an heiress turned into an ass-kicking archaeologist. Tank tops and cargo pants in full swing!

This multi-starer is an American science fantasy adventure film based on the 1962 novel of the same name. In addition to Oprah Winfrey the movie also stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling. That’s not all ladies, don’t miss the gorgeous Chris Pine in this literary classic that is sure to blow your mind.

4. Tully

A comedy-drama starring Charlize Theron is about a mother of three and her nanny. It talks about the struggles of parenting and how the protagonist’s life changes after she is gifted a nanny by her brother. Everybody needs help, isn’t it? Tully talks about sisterhood and how women should help and support each other.

5. Ocean’s Eight

An all-female spin-off on the Ocean’s Eleven film series, Ocean’s Eight stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway to name a few. Bullock is a con woman and the sister of Danny (George Clooney) who has set her eyes on stealing Anne Hathaway’s jewelry at the Met Ball. She ropes in what is believed to be the perfect crew for this crime. Riri is calling you all!

6. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again

This upcoming American romantic musical comedy is the sequel to the 2008 film Mamma Mia. It stars legendary actress Meryl Streep with Cher making a quick guest appearance. In this edition of Mamma Mia, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) discovers her mother’s past and seeks guidance on how to handle her own pregnancy.

7. Mary Poppins Returns

Another Disney remake to hit the screens is Mary Poppins Returns, an upcoming American British musical fantasy film starring Emily Blunt & Meryl Streep. The movie is set in the 1930s and is about how Mary Poppins comes back to the Banks family – though not alone!
