Teen microwaves her pet turtle to death and posts pictures on social media

Animal cruelty is a major concern worldwide and though there's a constant effort made to avoid such happenings, these innocent beings are being exploited, tortured for entertainment and product testing and some bizarre folks have even exhibited violent acts against their pets, in attempts to perform stunts and "fun experiments." 

Recently, one such crazy case has shocked thousands of people, who can't seem to comprehend why someone would do such a thing. A 16-year-old girl from Boston, USA, took to her Instagram handle to post pictures of her pet turtle, which she had microwaved simply for the thrill of it. 

For obvious reasons, the girl was slammed on social media for such an act of cruelty and inhuman behavior. According to reports, when the girl was asked for her statement, she surprisingly showed no remorse at all, and said, “Ya’ll mad over a f***ing turtle? Get over it!" If rumors are to be believed, when the teens mother was informed about the same, she too, took it very lightly and laughed off the matter. 

Although the post was quickly taken down, enraged people from all over the world, expressed their utter disgust and shock on Twitter. An online petition has also been launched so as to get the Boston Police Department to press animal cruelty charges on both Jonasia Simpson (the teen) and her mother, Shanitha.
