“So wake me up when it’s all over..when I’m wiser and I’m older” (Wake me up by Avicii)

Who could have ever thought that one of the best EDM artists would leave us and go so soon? Avicii, born Tim Bergling, was a 28 year old Swedish DJ and record producer who won billions of hearts with his music. Avicii was supremely talented and was the only DJ who could mix Country-Western styles with EDM and create smashing hits.

The hit sensation retired from livetouring due to his increasing ill-health, he said, “I will never let go of music.”  The Swedish EDM artist stayed true to his words as he was nominated for a Billboard music award just days before his death with fans even vouching that it was one of his finest works.

His homepage of his website www.avicii.com gives you chills as you read through it. It reads:

For me it’s creating music. That is what I live for, what I feel I was born to do.

Last year I quit performing live, and many of you thought that was it. But the end of live never meant the end of Avicii or my music. Instead, I went back to the place where it all made sense – the studio.

The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new.

Hope you´ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Swedish DJ Avicii passed away at the age of 28 on Friday. His representative said in a statement: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

DJ Calvin Harris took to his Twitter account and expressed his grief. He wrote, “Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x.”

Avicii had in the past suffered acute pancreatitis due to excessive drinking. After having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, he cancelled a series of shows in an attempt to recover. He quit touring in 2016 but continued making music in the studio.

The talented soul will forever be remembered and in our hearts through his music. Listed below are the 10 best songs that will forever be remembered..

Wake Me Up..

So wake me up when its all over..When I’m wiser and I’m older..

Waiting for love..

Where there's a will, there's a way, kind of beautiful

And every night has its day, so magical

And if there's love in this life, there's no obstacle

That can't be defeated

I could be the one..

When you need a way to beat the pressure down

When you need to find a way to breathe

I could be the one to make you feel that way

I could be the one to set you free

Taste the feeling..

No one can stop me when I taste that feeling

Nothing could ever bring me down

No one can stop me when I taste that feeling

Nothing could ever bring me down

Bromance..

I will give to you the love you seek and more

Come on I'm waiting for you

I will give to you

The love you seek and more

Friend of Mine..

My, oh my

You must have saved me 'bout a thousand times

I wouldn't be the one I am today

If you hadn't been a friend of mine

Fade into darkness..

Looking up there's always sky

Rest your head, I'll take you high

We won't fade into darkness

Won't let you fade into darkness

Ten more days..

Ten more days under water

And I already know

I'll be fine

Ten more days 'till it's over

'Till the darkness goes

And I see the light

Shame on me..

Shame on me for loving you

Can't deny that you've been untrue

Lie so sweet but you love to tease

Putting out fires with the gasoline

Gonna Love Ya

Living up in California
Loving life that I've been waiting for ya
Please my dear don't turn my face
Oh God I hope it's not to late
I'm gonna love ya
I'm gonna love ya

There’s an underlying sadness in all his songs but the depth of it will always echo in our ears. May he find his peace and is in a better place. #RIPAvicii
