The new Geode-inspired nail trend is the hottest on the block

Dubbed "geode nails", this new form of nail art takes inspiration from the world's prettiest crystals and is essentially a more wearable and practical version of crystal lip art - and the results? They're beyond stunning!

The new mania proves that crystals aren’t just for your bedside table or for decoration — you can now incorporate their shimmery, sparkly facets on your nails, and show off your crystal enthusiasm via a manicure! And hey, it's hard to go wrong when you're turning your nails into gorgeous gems — but just in case you need a little bit more inspiration before heading in to your manicurist, here are a few glorious examples.

A variety of salons and nail artists have been showing off their 'geode nails' on Instagram, and the exciting part is that decoding their technique isn't very difficult. You can mimic the texture of crystals by “marbling” your nails with water, foiling with gold or silver, or painting with a teeny tiny brush and glitter to make your tips look like big chunks of amethyst or rose quartz. Some even use a nail drill to “crystallize” their geode manicures, though we’d suggest that you visit a pro instead of trying to wield a power tool on your own if that’s the look you’re going for. 

The geode trend is highly  fashionable and a super fun trend to try, and besides, who wouldn't want to sport something reminiscent of a beautiful and possibly magical rock on your hands?
