Between unending meetings and overflowing inbox, sometimes our jobs can be a little taxing - both mentally and physically. A lot of us can relate to the mental stress but the physical stress is also problematic especially if your job is to sit at a desk with your computer all day. To avoid a list of problems like back pain, neck pain, eye problems and a host of other issues, these little adjustments will help you in your routine.

Adjust your desk space

It is super important to adjust where your computer is in relation to your eyes. If your computer screen is far down and you have to continuously look downwards, you might develop back and neck pain. Completely opposite to that, it you are looking upwards, your eyes will get dry. So use a computer stand or keep your computer on a stack of books. This will maintain a balance and make sure you are only looking down at a 10 degree angle, maximum.

Stay Hydrated

Drink water as frequently as possible. In addition to good skin and health, drinking water will also help you stay energized throughout the day and initiate weight loss. It will also force you to get up from your desk and pee, giving you a little time off from sitting in the same position for hours together.

Walk and Alarm

Set an alarm hourly. When the alarm goes off, take a walk along your office cubicles. This will hardly take up your time and help you take a little break from all the work stress.

Work out. But, at your desk

When we say workout we don’t mean taking out your dumbells and doing an elaborate routine. Stretch a few times, this will not require any equipments, will keep the blood flowing and the muscles engaged.

Go Big!

Make your fonts larger just like your grandma does. If the font is too small, it will lead to squinting of  eyes which is the major reason for eye problems and headaches.

Blink

Now you’d ask, what is this tip all about? We definitely know that everyone blinks, but when you are in front of a computer screen, one tend to do it very less - another cause of dry eyes. Try to look around at a distance at every 15 minutes to relax the focus levels of your eyes.

Rest your eyes

We know how tempting it is to leave the office and binge on your favourite Netflix show. But, did you give your eyes a break? Looking at screens for hours can weaken your eyes and make it prone to problems. When you are home, one episode of your favourite show or a few minutes browsing on social media won’t hurt but don’t forget to let your eyes rest after that.
