10 types of co-workers you'll find in every office - which one are you?

Our co-workers play an important role in our day to day life and can also have a bigger influence on our minds than we could possibly imagine. Well, we spend a good nine to ten hours in a day around these people (probably more time than we spend with our friends and family) and hence, without realising it, we often pick up their mannerisms and energy. 

Now co-workers personalities obviously differ from person to person, and while some may be a whole lot of fun to be around, there are a few whom we dread to meet on a daily basis. Whatever the situation may be, there's no escaping them and being the professionals that we are (eye roll), we can't afford to be impolite or even biased for that matter. 

However, what we can do, is identify each kind and be aware of the kind of baggage they come with. This will help us to deal with them better and to recognise who are 'our people' and who we should be wary of. 

To help you out, here is a list of the different kinds of co-workers you are more than likely to meet at your workplace... 

1. The Gossiper 

You know, the one who always knows what's cooking, the one who knows what goes down after hours and the one who snoops around and finds out who's about to be fired or hired! 

2. The Slacker 

This kind is always pushing deadlines and complaining about how much work they might have, or not have. They're the last to take up any duties and hate to be a part of any office activities. 

3. The Pleaser 

The pleaser aka the suck-up, as the name implies, is always every ready to please their bosses. Even though they might not be actually contributing anything real to the team, they will stay back late, take notes and be over officious - all day, errdayyy! 

4. The Control Freak

Also known as the dictator, control freaks have this uncontrollable urge to have everything go according to their plan. They don't necessarily have to be in a superior position, but that won't stop them from being Mr./Mrs. Bossy. 

5. The Over Sensitive 

The one who is always ready to shed (crocodile) tears at the drop of a hat. The Over Sensitive co-worker can be a real pain in the butt and will have an overly dramatic response to any and everything.

6. The Annoyingly Happy One 

All offices have that one person who is Lil miss sunshine, come what may. They're always so irritatingly positive and can give you a major migraine if you chat with them before your first cuppa coffee. 

7. The Hero

The office Hero always has us zapped. He is cool, he is smooth with his charm and has the gift of the gab. He get's all his assignments right and there is rarely anyone who he doesn't get along with. Easy breezy and effortless!

8. The Joker 

Easily amused by the dumbest of jokes, The Joker is always ready for a good laugh. Though some comic relief is good to take away the stress of work, it sometimes gets a little too annoying and can put people off, big time!

9. The Flirt

The ladies love him. The men detest him. The Flirt is a compulsive Casanova and has everyone wrapped up in his charisma. He has a way with words and uses his looks to get himself out of any sticky situation. 

10. The Forever Sleepy One 

The co-worker who's often caught in the act while dozing. Often complaining of being exhausted and overworked, The Forever Sleepy one isn't such a problem to deal with unless they're on a group assignment with you.

11. The Clueless 

What? When? How? Where? - These are the kind of questions The Clueless one is always heard asking. With not much direction in life and a head in the clouds, this kind of co-worker isn't too bad to handle, as long as you don't hand over any important duties to them. 

12. The Mother Hen 

Every office has a Mommy that needs no introduction. If you don't know who that is, you're probably her.
