It can occur due to witnessing or experiencing terrifying events. Anxiety, nightmares and flashbacks are major symptoms of it.

PTSD is a real problem and can occur at any age. Anyone who has been exposed to a life threatening situation, survivors of violent and dangerous acts, children who are abused etc, are main victims of PTSD.

Victims of PTSD have a hard time dealing with this terrifying disorder.

Here are few ways in which you can deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders.

It is important to let your family and friends know what you are going through. Their support and understanding can be very helpful during such times. Let your feelings out to your close ones. You don’t have to face it alone.

It is important to accept the fact that you are a victim of PTSD. Accepting will help you to know yourself better and you will be challenged to fight the odds.

Do not use drugs or alcohol to overcome your disorder. These will only make it worse. Use other methods of relaxation.

Do more of what makes you happy. Go for walks, meet your friends, go grab something at your favorite restaurant, visit beautiful places. Plan to do nice things each day.

Meditation plays a very important role here. It helps you to cleanse your mind. Remove all the chaotic thoughts. Meditate every morning for at least 15 minutes.

When you feel that your PTSD has reached a point where you are unable to control it, you must visit a doctor. Start your medications at the earliest before it gets extreme.
