World Food Day 2019: 5 easy and inexpensive healthy drinks you should add in your daily diet
Today, on the occasion of world food day, we have compiled a list of healthy and inexpensive drinks that anyone can add in their daily diet to be fit, active and strong.
Today, everybody across the world is observing annual Food day in honor of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The international authority was set up on this day in 1945 to fight the social evil of world hunger. Speaking of this year's theme, the same is “Our Actions Are Our Future, Healthy Diets for A #ZeroHunger World.” With the theme, the FAO has highlighted the health issues which is quite prevalent and that is Malnutrition. As per FAO, shifting to a healthier diet by eating more fruits and vegetables and reducing the consumption of junk and processed food can help in meeting the ‘zero hunger’ goal of the UN-mandated Sustainable Development Goals.
Unfortunately, nowadays people prefer processed and unhealthy food items and that's why many of us do not meet their nutritional needs. Also, junk food has led to more number of malnutrition and obesity. Today, on the occasion of world food day, we have compiled a list of healthy and inexpensive drinks that anyone can add in their daily diet to be fit, active and strong.
Turmeric milk
This particular drink is ideal for those who want to cure their insomnia and other related sleep issues. It has the goodness of many nutrients which helps in health improvement overall. To prepare the same, boil 100 ml organic milk with 1/2 tsp of organic haldi, 1/4 tsp of Ceylon cinnamon. Later, add 3-4 crystals of Himalayan pink salt and a tsp of roasted and crushed peanuts to the boiled milk. Consume this 15 minutes before bed.
Beet & spinach drink
This particular drink will have to detox your liver and rejuvenate your body. For the drink, use cold-pressed juice of beet, spinach, amla, and celery (200-300ml). Add 2 tsps of virgin olive oil mixed with juice of 1 lemon. One should have the same before bed daily for a month.
Gingerette drink
A relaxing concoction of ginger, lime and Ceylon cinnamon helps to alkalize the body and reduce inflammation.
To prepare the same, boil 8-10 thin slices of ginger and ½ tsp Ceylon cinnamon in a liter of water. Hold the boil for 15 minutes. Strain and cool for 3-4 minutes, add the fresh juice of 1 lemon. And that’s it! There are several benefits of the same such as
anti-inflammatory, insulin reducing, anti-microbial, heart-protective and has weight loss benefits as well.
The calmer drink
This drink has the goodness of lime and aloe vera, reap in its benefits early in the morning on an empty stomach. To prepare the same, add a glass of filtered water, add 3 tbsps of aloe vera, then 1 tbsp of lemon juice and 1 tbsp ginger powder. Finally, add in 1 tsp of honey, mix well. The same has many health benefits such as bolster vitamin C and has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces digestive discomfort among others.
Spicy hot drink
Antioxidants are important to fight free oxygen radicals and keep your body from several diseases. The antioxidant potential of any product is measured in its ORAC or oxygen radical absorbance capacity and spices have a high ORAC. This drink will ensure you get a substantial amount of the required antioxidants into your system for the day. To prepare the same, add 1/3rd tsp of powdered cloves, 1/3rd tsp of powdered raw turmeric, ¼ tsp of powdered cinnamon, ¼ tsp powdered jeera/cumin into a boiling 200ml of organic milk. You can replace milk for filtered water too. Aside from being anti-inflammatory, it also helps to improve acidity and bloating.
