Weight Loss: THESE are the myths about metabolism that you shouldn't believe

When it comes to weight loss, there's a constant battle between junk food and healthy food. We sacrifice our favourite dishes to get fit, and sometimes in spite of all the efforts, everything goes down the drain. Be it keto, paleo, or intermittent - everybody has tried at least one of these diets. Apart from this, another factor that contributes to the weight loss process is the metabolic rate, there are various myths that people follow when it comes to increasing the metabolism of the body.

What they don't try it to understand the process of weight loss. To lose weight, it's imperative to understand that food and exercise go hand in hand. You don't need to make big sacrifices or have supplements to boost your metabolism or starve yourself to lose weight. Following a healthy lifestyle will also help you achieve your dream weight. And if you are on a weight loss schedule, then here are some metabolism myths that you should stop believing in right now.

Cardio helps boost metabolism:

When it comes to doing cardio, yes it helps burn calories fast, but it might not be great for your metabolic rate. If you are focusing on calories, then cardio is for you, but if you want to work on your metabolism, then you need to follow regimes that help your body burn fat even while at rest. Similarly, doing workouts for long hours and undergoing extensive sessions won't amp up your metabolism.

Eat less for weight loss:

For weight loss, you need to follow a diet that's not packed with calories, but that doesn't mean that you'll eat less. Many people have this preconceived notion that eating less will boost your metabolism, but that's not true. A sudden drop or spike in your calorie intake can slow down your metabolism, which is not good news at all. So for the best results, eat right and eat in quantities that your body needs.

Men and women have similar metabolic rates:

When it comes to weight loss, both men and women lose weight differently because of their varied metabolic rate. And if you believe this, then it's not completely true. While men and women do lose weight a little differently, it's due to the muscular composition and skeletal mass, which, in turn, can take a toll on the metabolic rate. Metabolism is not the only factor.

Green tea and metabolism go hand in hand:

Every advertisement for green tea claims that it helps in boosting the metabolism. However, all of that is not true. You need to understand that food and beverages can help you boost your metabolism, but ultimately you will need to work on your lifestyle and maintain a balanced diet to jig up your metabolic system.
