As per the diet plan, Dr. Mosley recommended one should focus on fluids, fats and fibre intake. He stressed on the importance of fluids as a lack of it can make us lethargic and we often mistake thirst for hunger and end up eating more foodstuff. Drinking more water and fluids keeps us full for longer.
Coming to fats, Dr. Mosley said that one should not avoid fats as good fats which are rich mono-and polyunsaturates actually aids in weight loss. They curb the appetite and keep us fuller for longer. One can include olive oil, nuts, oily fish and full-fat dairy products for good fats. Next, he revealed the importance of fibre, fibrous foodstuff help to improve gut, produces more good-mood chemicals, increases the production of a chemical called “PYY” which reduces appetite. One should try and include more veggies, fruits, legumes and grains in the diet.
The next vital tip was of intake of protein. Protein helps to build muscles, keep us satisfied after meals, also keep cravings for junk food at bay as well. Last but not least, he said about how one should avoid trap foods. He revealed that the right foodstuff helps to feel fuller for longer while junk food does the reverse effect with more craving for junk food.
