When we think about running nose, blocked nose or headache we usually resonate it with cold and flu. But then there are other underlying factors for the constant cold and cough that we have. And one of them is sinusitis. Sinus is an infection that occurs due to obstruction or bacterial growth. Among the many causes, many such causes of obstruction are the common cold, allergies, certain medical conditions, and abnormalities in the nasal passages. Being brought by a virus, you can spread the cold to others. But spreading the virus doesn't mean that you are spreading the infection.

Sinus infection is caused by the inflammation that builds up from a cold. If you are always worried about spreading sinus to others or contracting it from others, then read below to find out some signs and symptoms of sinus. If you have these signs, then you must visit the doctor and get it checked.

Symptoms of sinus:

1. Pain in eyes

If your cold has lasted than usual, and it's giving you pain in the eyes, then there's a chance that you might have a sinus infection. Sinuses sit the area below, above and next to the eyes, so when the pressure is built in these areas, it can cause pain.

2. Coughing at night

Are you having sleepless nights because of the cough? If yes, then that's another symptom of the sinus. Since lying down at night makes it easier for mucus to trip down the back of the throat, irritating the back of the throat and cause coughing.

3. Toothache

Toothache is usually resonated with decayed teeth, but it can also due to sinus. Toothache is the most uncommon symptom of sinus inflammation.

4. Headache

If you're facing a headache above your forehead, then that's sinus pain. Often when a person suffering from sinus bends down, the motion causes the mucus to pour forward and causes pain.

5. Bad breath

Prolonged cold can cause a sinus infection, which can cause a thick yellow and green mucus in the throat and nose. When this mucous goes down your throat, it affects your breath, making it smell bad. If you have these symptoms, then you must visit the doctor and get yourself checked.
