That time of the month is stressful and painful for every woman. Anxiety, mood swings, severe cramps, back pain, bloating and nausea are symptoms that women go through during her menstruation cycle. And the sad part is that there's no escaping that time of the month for women. It is not the best time since the hormones also become unpredictable. Usually, the length of the menstrual cycle is 28 days, but if it exceeds a week or more, then that can be problematic. And that's known as irregular periods.
Irregular periods have now become a common issue in women. Stress, lifestyle, weight loss or gain, hormonal imbalance, alcohol abuse and various other factors contribute to irregular periods. Irregular periods are also common at the time of menopause. But at times, girls at the age of 19 or 20 also have irregular periods due to the above-mentioned factors. And here are some home remedies for irregular periods that one can follow.
Consume unripe papaya:

Green papaya is useful for regulating periods since it helps contract muscle fibres in the uterus. Consume unripe papaya juice regularly for a few months this will help with the flow and will also give you some relief with the bloating. But this juice shouldn't be consumed during your periods.
Turmeric:

Turmeric is a medicinal herb which is used for treating vivid types of illnesses since ages. It also helps in regulating menstruation and balancing hormones. The antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties present in turmeric relieve menstrual pain. Consume a one-quarter teaspoon of turmeric with milk and drink it daily until you see improvement.
Cumin:

Cumin is known for varied numbers of health benefits. Soaked cumin can be used in the treatment of irregular periods. Soak two spoons of cumin seeds in water overnight and drink it in the morning daily. Drinking this daily will help you regularise your cycle.
Practice Yoga:

Stress is one of the main factors that contribute to hormonal imbalance in the body which triggers irregular periods. Yoga helps in relieving stress. Hence, practising yoga for controlling irregular periods without medicines is an ideal option.
Cinnamon:

Cinnamon is not only used to add flavours in dishes, but it also contributes to regulating our menstrual cycles. It provides a warming effect within your body. In a glass of milk, add a teaspoon of powdered cinnamon and drink it. It will not only help with irregular periods but will also help with menstrual cramps.
Aloe Vera:

This remedy shouldn't be used while you are on your periods. Aloe vera treats menstrual irregularities by regulating your hormones. Use fresh aloe vera gel, mix in one teaspoon of honey and consume it daily before breakfast.
