From Hair Fall to Inflammation, here's how THESE kitchen healers will help you improve your lifestyle

Living a healthy and fit life takes a lot of hard work. With the lifestyle that we are leading, balancing work life, and personal life becomes quite stressful at times and when we are stressed we tend to binge on things that may not be healthy for our body. Stress and vivid other lifestyle choices give rise to diseases like cholesterol, hair fall, obesity, heart issues and digestion issues to name a few.

We cannot lead a healthy time all year round, but what we can do instead is try and incorporate things in our diet that's not only beneficial to our skin and hair, but it also helps to maintain the overall health of our body. With that said, here's a list of natural kitchen healers that if you include in your diet, will help you stay healthier. These ingredients are easily available and are found in almost every Indian household.

Turmeric:

Turmeric, which is found in every Indian household, is a miraculous anti-inflammatory spice. People who suffer from inflammatory diseases like arthritis and auto-immune diseases are advised to increase the intake of anti-inflammatory foods that help in reducing the symptoms of the disease. Include it in your diet, by drinking Haldi (turmeric) milk every night before going to sleep, or include it in the dishes you cook. 

Flax seeds:

Flax seeds are packed with antioxidants and are known for being anti-inflammatory. They are gluten-free, have omega-3 fatty acids and are rich in fibre. They further help in controlling blood pressure and cholesterol. Include it in your diet, by mixing them in salad or smoothies. Apply the flax-seed paste directly to inflamed and dry skin to soothe it.

Aloe vera:

Aloe vera is another super plant that helps to reduces inflammation, heals sunburn, and treat itchy scalp/skin. To treat your skin and hair, mash the aloe-vera and apply it directly to your hair, face and inflammation.

Baking soda:

Baking soda again helps with inflammation, but it also works well to deep-cleanse and condition the scalp and to reduce dandruff. Apply baking soda mixed with a few drops of water, directly to sunburn to reduce inflammation. 

Garlic:

Garlic is another kitchen ingredient which is found in almost every Indian household. It has antibacterial, antiviral and analgesic properties. Garlic helps in lowering blood pressure and bad cholesterol (LDL). People with high blood pressure and cholesterol can include garlic in their daily diet or consume a clove of garlic with water in the morning. 

Onion:

Onion is not only good to make bhajias, but is also rich in antioxidants, helps prevent cancer, help in hair growth and in boosting immunity. Add it to your daily diet and enjoy all the onion dishes more now. 

Olive oil:

Olive oil is not only good for your heart, but it's an excellent moisturiser too. It helps in lowering cholesterol and reducing high blood pressure. Next time when you make a salad, add some olive oil as dressing. For dry or irritated skin, apply it topically.
