Losing weight is quite a task for those who really want to shed those pounds. Spending hours sweating it out at the gym, controlling what one eats, reducing sugar intake and maybe even not eating at all, is extremely stressful such that one fine day, you end up breaking and bingeing on everything you have been avoiding, like never before!

A hack to this seems to have been discovered.

The book The Marie Antoinette Diet, which is a spin off from a 2012 study which compared two different study groups who were on different diet plans. One group was on a high protein and carb breakfast while the other on a low carb one. After a month, both the groups lost around 33 pounds but over the next couple of months, the people on the low carb breakfast diet regained 22 of those lost pounds! Those who continued to eat dessert for breakfast continued to shed pounds easily! The conclusion to this study was that beginning the day with high protein foods like tune or paneer with dessert actually helped one lose weight over time!

This research speculated that those who are what they wished for for breakfast, didn't crave the food they already ate earlier as opposed to those who ate healthy and craved unhealthy food later in the day, causing a relapse to their entire diet plan.

The diet was also based on the premise that King Louis XVI of France consumed nothing but cake and hot chocolate for all his breakfasts and still managed to stay slender and even lose pounds when required!

Like any other diet, there is a catch though! Desserts or anything sweet should be consumed not more than thrice a week for breakfast and in small quantities. Ready-to-eat desserts should also be avoided for they are processed and are more unhealthy. Desserts cooked at home should be consumed instead for they contain lesser sugar and preservatives.
