We all love a shot of caffeine to wake us up every morning and sometimes at night. It’s your sort of drug. It’s nearly impossible to wake up without a cup of piping hot coffee. Caffeine is a very important part of our lives. Coffee is a great excuse for a tiny break and the caffeine gives you a great kick and who wants to miss out on that can of coke that satisfies your thirst. Caffeine just keeps you going and if you’re hungover or haven’t caught any sleep, this is it. It keeps you up, alert and it keeps you going. It’s the one thing we just don’t want to give up in life but if your caffeine intake is too much, now would be a great time to leave it. It’s just another drug you need not get addicted to. Giving up isn’t going to be easy but it’s worth the effort, it will make your body and mind happier. So, if you are a caffeine addict and are planning on leaving it, here’s how it will affect your body and mind.

1. It will reduce anxiousness. Quitting it will initially make you a little more anxious and jittery but in the long run, it will reduce your anxiety and make you feel calmer.

2. You may get headaches because caffeine can cause withdrawal symptoms like any other drug. This too shall pass. You may get a mild to severe headache due to a lack of caffeine in your body.

3. You will sleep better when you let go of caffeine. It keeps you alert and, on the edge. When you stop consuming it, you’ll sleep easier and have a deeper and more relaxing sleep.

4. A cup of hot coffee can do wonders for your digestive system. You might feel a little constipated when you leave it. Replace your early morning cup of coffee with warm water or a cup of herbal tea.

5. Caffeine can stain your teeth and erode the tooth enamel. Quitting can save your teeth and leave you with better looking whiter teeth.

6. When you stop your caffeine intake your body feels low on energy and you may even feel slightly irritated due to lack of your regular dose of coffee. This may make you feel fatigued and cause difficulty in concentrating.

7. Quitting caffeine does wonder for your skin. When you hydrate your skin with water or something better than caffeine it starts to look and feel cleaner.

8. It’s not uncommon to lose or gain weight after quitting coffee. Depending on the kind of caffeinated beverages you drink, your weight tends to change.
