Contrary to the popular belief of non-vegans, being a vegan isn't a massive sacrifice. Neither is it a form of suffering since vegans don't get to eat "good" food, according to meat eaters. It is a personal choice for those who want to eat lower on the food chain and wish to minimise their impact on the environment or not promote animal cruelty. Unfortunately, it is not very easy to incorporate the earth-friendly food into your daily menu. The only available options seem to be tofu or weird veggies that stop becoming appetising after a while.

It's time to live a little greener and better while committing to a meat-free lifestyle! Here are some vegan foods that are good options for when you are sick of veggies:

Scrambled tofu

A vegan alternative to scrambled eggs even though it tastes nothing like eggs. Whip it up the way you whip up eggs and mix in some basic spices and herbs. To give it a curry-like flair, add a little bit of turmeric. For an added twist, throw in some jalepenios and it will taste great even as a side dish!

Boozy noodles or pasta

The flour-based food is a great option for vegans when it is made well and mixed with veggies like broccoli and nuts like cashews. For an added tinge, mix it up in some vodka or wine and you are in for a booze dinner treat! Skip the soy milk because it is not a vegan option, but use some peanut sauce and tomato puree instead for it to taste equaly delicious.

Fried tofu

There's no harm in indulging in some fried food from time-to-time. Cut the tofu into tiny chunks and fry the pieces in some healthy sunflower oil. Surprisingly, the outside is crisp but the inside remains moist and firm. Have it with some sea-salt or just plain old ketchup for a great snack.

Chickpea masala

Channa or chickpea is an Indian substantial dish which is filling, fairly simple to make and tastes amazing. Cook it well and you are in for a treat! It can be had with rotis/naan or even rice.

Strawberries and chocolate

Move over from the cream and opt for some delicious dark melted chocolate instead. This deadly combination also makes fo rthe tastiest dessert ever and is the simplest thing to make. Mix the tanginess of strawberries with the sweetness of chocolate, for a treat like never before!
