Cooking can be very refreshing and calming. Cooking feeds your mind and your tummy. It can keep you happy and your mind relaxed. Learning an art like cooking also keeps your tummy happy. It’s important that we all learn how to cook some basics. In case of an emergency, you should be capable of feeding your own self. And once in a while, it’s nice to have some home-cooked food after a tiring day at work. But cooking can be a very long, tiring and time taking process. The post-cooking clean up can be much worse but you don’t always have to give up cooking because you are exhausted. Here are some easy to cook recipes that make your work quick and your clean up easier.
1. Bhurji
Paneer or egg bhurji is a great quick fix for your hunger. Sauté onions till they turn golden brown and add chopped tomatoes to it. Keep it on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes and then add an egg or crushed cottage cheese to it. Add garam masala, turmeric and chill powder and salt to taste and cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame. This takes about 10 minutes of preparation time and 8 minutes of cooking time.

2. Paratha
Stuffed parathas are an easy dish to make as well. Boil potatoes and mash them. Add chopped onions, green chilies, garam masala, and salt and mix well. Now roll a chapati and put the stuffing and roll it and make stuffed paratha. Roast the parathas and serve them with curd and mint chutney.

3. Vegetable Rice
Heat some oil at medium flame and add vegetables to it. You can put chopped potatoes, green peas, cauliflower and coat it in oil. Add some water and cover the pot for 4-5 minutes and cook on medium heat. Mix steamed rice to this and your dish is ready to eat.

4. Sandwich
First, make the stuffing of the sandwich. Mash some boiled potatoes, green peas and mix some garam masala, chili powder and salt to taste. Now apply some mint chutney on two slices of bread and stuff it with the stuffing. Toast this sandwich and serve with ketchup and mint chutney.
