EXCLUSIVE: Meet the geniuses behind Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Wedding menu
The power couple exactly knew how they wanted their wedding menu to look like and were very particular about the finer details. Find out more
The much awaited Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding had two traditional Indian cuisines to feast on. While the guests took back fond memories from the perfectly planned wedding, one thing they could not stop gushing about was the food preparation at the wedding. Keeping in mind the Konkani and Sindhi theme for the ceremony, Foodlink B&C had curated a selection of traditional and authentic Konkani and Sindhi delicacies for the wedding.

The couple believed in the theory - ‘Less is more’. The couple exactly knew how they wanted their wedding menu to look like and were very particular about the finer details. They wanted the cuisines to be authentic and true to their respective cultures. While the Konkani and Sindhi Wedding had traditional cuisines being served, the couple went for Indian, Chinese, Mughlai, barbeque, chaat and street food for their Mehendi and Sangeet functions.
Every dish on the menu was exclusively curated for Deepika and Ranveer. The catering company had flown special chefs from across the country to help them curate some unique and authentic dishes. The Italian staff were trained to work on their dialect to pronounce the Indian dishes right. They were also made to wear dhotis and Mysore phetas while serving the guests. The guests were delighted and enjoyed every bit of the authentic Sindhi and Konkani spread. A guest from the United States who attended the wedding was heard commenting on ‘tindli cashew nut curry’ which was being served as a part of the Konkani sit-down spread. He mentioned how he was having the curry after 20 years and could not believe he was having it at Lake Como in Italy. Also seen enjoying the food was designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee who relished the authentic spread so much so that he wanted to go back to writing food blogs, something he did years ago.
After looking at the happy pictures of Deepika and Ranveer eating traditional delicacies, we can only imagine how delicious the food would have been. Don’t worry, we have some exclusive images of the flavourful dishes they ate at both of these weddings. However, these images are not actual stills from the wedding but a tentative representation of what was served.
