Choco gujiya

Indian crepes

Indian crepes or patishapta is a delicious Bengali dessert. This concoction of rice, maida, sooji, jaggery and coconut is easy to make. Soak the rice overnight and make a paste next day. Add maida, sugar and sooji to it. Spread batter on a pan and stuff it with jaggery and coconut dust. Cook until golden brown and serve hot!

Bread gulab jamun

Bread gulab jamun are easier to make than the traditional ones. Break bread slices into small cubes and grind them into fine breadcrumbs. Add warm water and knead the dough. Roll them into small balls and fry them till golden brown in hot ghee. Add a cup of sugar to 3/4th cup of water and bring to boil. Make sure there’s some thickness to the syrup. Once it’s done, add the balls into the sugar and cook for a minute. Garnish with pistachios and serve hot!
