Chocolate Day: Brownie Tarts, Chocolate Lollies- Desserts to surprise your Valentine and loved ones with

Valentine's Day is only for 24 hours but for the loved-up couples who think one day is not enough for the celebration of love, Valentine's week is very important. The theme of February 9 is Chocolate Day. Here, we have gathered five easy recipes that you can impress your partner with. They're not only cute but delectable as well.

Brownie Tart:

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons unsalted butter,

3 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips,

3 eggs,

1 cup sugar,

1 tablespoon instant coffee granules,

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract,

1/2 cup all-purpose flour,

1/4 teaspoon baking powder,

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt,

1 cup (4 ounces) chopped walnuts,

2 to 3 tablespoons heavy cream.

Method:

1. Grease and flour a tart pan. Preheat the oven to 350* F. 

2. Melt the butter in a bowl. Add 2 cups of chocolate chips. Mix it well and set aside to cool. 

3. In the bowl of an electric mixer attached with the paddle, beat the eggs, sugar, coffee and vanilla on medium-high speed until it becomes light and fluffy. Add the cooled chocolate and stir it well.

4. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, 1 cup of chocolate chips and walnuts.

5. Mix the contents of both these bowls together. Pour it into the pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the centre is puffed. Cool it before serving.

6. Melt the remaining chocolate chips with the heavy cream and drizzle it over the tart.

Marshmallow Treats:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter

1 10 - ounce package tiny marshmallows

1 13 - ounce jar marshmallow creme

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

7 cups crisp rice cereal

Method:

1. Line a baking pan with a foil, extending foil over the edges. Lightly butter the foil and set the pan aside.

2. Melt 1/4 of the butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows. Cook and stir until the mixture is smooth. Stir in marshmallow creme, vanilla and salt until combined. Remove from heat and add cereals to the mixture. 

3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Use a buttered spatula or waxed paper. Press mixture firmly and evenly into pan. Using a buttered knife, cut into pieces.

Chocolate Caramel Lollies

Ingredients:

12 ounces chocolate- and/or vanilla-flavour candy coating*, coarsely chopped,

1 cup toffee pieces, crushed; finely chopped pistachios; and/or nonpareils,

48 short plastic or wooden skewers (optional),

1 14 - ounce package vanilla caramels (about 48), unwrapped,

2 ounces chocolate- and/or vanilla-flavour candy coating*, coarsely chopped (optional).

Method:

1. In a microwave, place the 12 ounces candy coating and melt it. Microwave on high power for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.

2. Place toffee pieces, nuts, and/or nonpareils in a shallow dish. Insert a skewer into each caramel. Dip the caramels into the melted candy coating, covering it with the liquid. Then place the dipped caramel pops in the toffee pieces, nuts, and/or nonpareils. 

3. Place all these caramels on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Let the caramels stand for about one hour before they dry up. They are then ready to be served.

Mocha Bites

Ingredients:

1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar,

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder,

1 tablespoon cornstarch,

1 teaspoon instant espresso coffee powder,

3 egg whites,

1/2 teaspoon vanilla,

1/4 cup granulated sugar,

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate pieces,

1 teaspoon shortening.

Method:

1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil and set it aside. In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and espresso powder and set aside.

2. In a bowl, beat egg whites and vanilla with an electric mixer on high speed until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. Add the cocoa mixture.

3. Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag or if you don't have one, use a spoon to drop the mixture on the sheet. Bake in a 250 degree F oven for 1 hour. Cool on the cookie sheet. Remove from parchment paper.

4. In a small saucepan, combine chocolate and shortening. Cook and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. Drizzle the melted chocolate over cookies.
