4 smoothie recipes to beat the heat this summer

When you're in no mood to cook, and it's too hot to go outside, quick and satisfying homemade smoothies are always the answer. They're so simple and refreshing, especially now with great summer fruits and vegetables to sip through your straw and guess what?! Thye're also high on nutrition value!

1. Coconut-mango-carrot smoothie

Ingredients
200 ml yoghurt/curd
1 mango
2 tbsp honey
1 cup carrot
1 cup coconut milk
2 cup ice cubes
Method
Slice the mango and carrots so that they can blend properly with other ingredients. Now add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with ice and serve chilled in a glass.
2. Watermelon Frosty

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups frozen watermelon, cubes
1/2 cup coconut water or water (add more as needed)
1-2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 large lemon or 2 limes, squeezed
1 fresh banana
Method
Add all ingredients to a high speed blender like a Vitamix and blend until frosty. Note: Start off with just 1/4 cup of the water liquid and add more in splashes as needed to blend. Pour into frosted glasses to keep cool, garnish with lime or fresh watermelon sliced.
3. Summer-In-A-Cup

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup frozen raspberries
1 large ripe, sliced and frozen banana
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup Plain Unsweetened Almond Milk
Method
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy and smooth, scraping down sides as needed. Taste and adjust flavor as needed. Add more milk or fruit juice if too thick. Add more frozen banana if not sweet enough. Serve immediately. Freezes well (or make into popsicles).
4. Strawberry Mania

Ingredients
cranberry juice
1 container low-fat strawberry yogurt
Frozen strawberries
Method
In blender, combine cranberry juice, yogurt, and strawberries and blend until mixture is smooth and frothy. Pour into 1 tall glass and enjoy!
