Mumbai is rightly known as the city of dreams. Everyone has dreams and everyone wants to see the city where dreams come true. The city where there is love and struggle and beauty. This city that never sleeps, but it is still the city of dreams. It’s also the place where your dreams may go to sleep and reality will strike. It’s fast and it’s harsh and hard. But this city gives you love and shows you the harsh truth of life. It’s massive but there’s no place. It has water but your taps are probably empty. It has money, but it can empty your pockets in a second. It is the financial capital of the nation and its where the most adored film industry exists. It's bustling with people with dreams and ambition. If you are planning to visit Mumbai, here are some things you should know.
1. It’s big but there’s no place. There is no space. The houses and rooms are small and congested. Don’t expect your 2 or 3-star hotel room to be big. It’s probably a lone-standing building, super expensive and has tiny rooms. Forget your dreams of a bathtub until and unless you’re going to book a 5 star or 7 star hotel.

2. There’s crazy traffic. The roads are small and full of cars. There’s nowhere to go. Don’t take a cab or drive down everywhere you go or the traffic will drive you insane.

3. Mumbai is well connected by local trains. Make sure you don’t travel by train during the peak rush hours. The rush in the local train can be as mad as the traffic if not worse.

4. There's no place to park. Mumbai does not have enough space to provide a luxurious car parking. Owning cars or going around in a car can be difficult.

5. The rickshaws and cabs run on meter. The local taxi and auto-rickshaw have an electronic meter and it runs by the meter, though our rickshawalas and cabbies have loads of nakhras.

6. Marine Drive is beautiful but the police clears it out by 1-2 AM. Don’t try to test our Police because they are very strict.

7. Nobody gets anywhere on time. Being on time is a utopian idea in Mumbai.

8. Don’t miss out on the vada pav. Mumbai has the BEST vada pav. You’ll find it at every nook and corner.

9. The people are very helpful. You can always ask anyone on the road for any help and they won’t refuse. Even the Policemen are cordial and helpful

10. Girls are pretty safe here. You can sit alone on the marine drive at midnight and you won’t have any problems with anyone.
