Towelkini is the latest summer trend and the Internet is going berserk

Internet fads are a major fad in itself (Oh, the irony!) Well, with the summer sun soaring up high in the sky, artist Aria McManus has given the world, “Towelkini”. Towelkini is your part time towel, part time bikini and part time dress - piece. The current Internet favourite trend is actually the brainchild of Aria, who both conceptualised and designed it.

The artist explains how the towel is extremely beneficial and is super productive (Clearly!). The towelkini is actually multi-purpose. Imagine a single piece of fabric taking care of all your woes. Want to lie on the beach? It’s got your back. Want to avoid tan lines? The towelkini’s got your there. Want to lie on something? Well, your problem is sorted here too.

The product design alumni from Parsons School of Design loves to create functional product objects. One of her most loved and popular projects was when she made candles out of butter. Teen Vogue got in conversation with the artist and asked her about her now super famous creation, the Towelkini. She said, “I first created the Towelkini to combine two things you use in one place, a suit and a towel.” When she was further quizzed how she feels about people’s reactions and feedback to her creation she said that she’s been accepting. “It has been interesting to watch something grow from the inside. I love seeing everyone's unique reactions to the Towelkini™,” she said.

Honestly, we think that this one is a pretty cool and functional product and we cannot wait to try it ourselves.
