With the festive season going on, we've come across quite a lot of bling and glitter but this time it's not just the festive dazzle, this time it seems that the blingy trends are here to stay. Over the last few months, we've seen a number of B-town divas donning some bling and leaving us all dazzled. Glitter seems to have become the new trend and the disco ball looks are back with a bang. From Ananya Panday's sequin dress to Karisma Kapoor's sequined saree and all the metallic gowns that our leading ladies have worn are proof that the blingy trend is back and it's not going anywhere. Now you don't really need to wait till New Year's to wear that shiny little dress in the back of your closet. You can throw it on anytime you want but the glitter is not easy to style. It can be a little tricky and one mistake can turn your outfit from fab to drab.

Here are some tips to style your shimmery look.

1. Use a metallic or a glittery jacket to jazz up your outfit instead of going all out with glitter during the day. A blingy jacket can do the job when you want to style it for a daywear look. Keep the rest of your clothes basic and single tone.

2. When wearing a sequined dress, go for shorter hemlines and high necklines and if you're planning on sporting metallics, go with deeper necklines and longer hemlines. This keeps your outfit very streamlined.

3. Keep your accessories to the minimal. Don't go all out with everything. You cannot have it all. If you're wearing a complete blingy look, skip out on the accessories or keep them minimal.

4. With a full set of blingy clothes keep your makeup basic and light. You can do heavy eyes or heavy lips but not both. Too much of anything cannot be good for you. Keep your makeup dewy or natural and let your outfit do all the talking.

5. If you're going with a pair of shiny pants or a shiny top, keep the other piece of clothing very basic. If you want to go with a pair of metallic pants or skin, pick a basic colour for your top and vice versa.

6. Don't wear blingy or dramatic footwear if you're going with some shiny clothes. Keep them basic and chic.

7. Don't get colourful when you're playing with bling. Keep it basic with black and silver and gold. You don't want to look like a red or a blue disco ball.
